“What’s changed at 2 Pier Rd?”

Delicious and nutritious spring quiche prepared by chefs at Caring Community Cuisine Café

A lot of people who come through our door at 2 Pier Rd in Kennebunkport, ME have been here before. Families who visit in the summer, couples who visit every year to immerse themselves in our beautiful town for a few precious days. Locals who are an integral part of why this community is such a wonderful place to live.
What's Not Changed: Anyone can still expect a warm welcome and absolutely delicious food prepared by the same talented Musette chefs, Selena Roy and Jonathan Cartwright, in our light-filled, joy-infused café space on Sun through Tue from 9am to 2 pm ET.
What Has Changed: Our name and our mission! In Nov 2024, we became a 501(c)3 nonprofit called Caring Community Cuisine Café. A net proceeds from your patronage, combined with the generous donations we receive, will directly fund the preparation and delivery of meals to those in our community facing cancer.
Jonathan and Selena, our wonderful co-founders and skilled chefs, have both had loved ones who were affected by cancer and for a long time have wanted to find a way to help. They realized they can’t cure the disease , but they can cook. The meals are for both the warrior battling cancer and the caregivers supporting them every step of the way - giving them a few moments of time where they can be together, knowing that the meal provided will be nutritious. A moment to feed their soul.
Our patrons are an integral part of this journey, and anyone who enjoys good food is welcomed as a patron. Every $10 spent on delicious food at the cafe allows Caring Community Cuisine to provide one meal to our families. Additional donations are always appreciated. We love creating special events for our community to enjoy, and our space can be reserved to support your events. Proceeds from these events also support our amazing cancer warriors.
On the days the café is closed, Jonathan and Selena prepare meals for those families and individuals impacted by cancer. particular attention to the nutrient needs of the warriors battling cancer. All the ingredients are whole foods sourced locally as much as possible, and of the same high quality as the food so many patrons have enjoyed at the café over the years. The food is then delivered to the homes of our recipient families. They just need to heat and enjoy. This is done on a weekly basis.
Thank you for reading our first blog! In future posts, we'll delve into how we support the specific nutritional needs of these individuals. Our goal is to provide nourishment that feeds both body and soul, allowing those impacted by cancer to focus on healing and togetherness.
By the way, Selena’s favorite little bite? Deviled eggs! * If you mention this when you come to dine with us at the café through the month of May, we will give you a cup of coffee or tea on us! *
