August 2026
A summer day at CCC
We have room at the café for many unique characters who make our mission work. We often joke that our daily production and conversations could be the basis of a comedy show!
A typical Tuesday features:
Chef Jonathan prepares meals for the restaurant. He also ensures that everything is made with quality and love.
Gary assists Chef Jonathan with preparation and packaging of warrior meals.
Meanwhile, Bert, "AKA the Queen of Pancakes", plates delicious creations and shares stories from the past.
All meals are ready to be organized into cooler bags by Sue.
Sami and Tori work together to welcome guests, while ensuring all labels/instructions are ready for each meal. They also customize special suprises for our warriors, such as flower bouquets, mini whoopie pies, or herb lemonade.
Chef Selena mingles throughout, lending a hand where needed and offering words of encouragement.
This collaboration creates a beautiful atmosphere to work together in laughter as we create nutritious meals.
The CCC team shares the work with fun, laughter, and conversation
In July, we prepared 377 meals for 18 warrior families. Menus consisting of items like baked haddock with succotash, roasted beet salad, peach cobbler. Many of the fresh ingredients we use are donated by local farms!

Volunteer Spotlight
Susan Colinet has been volunteering with us since April. She is a proud mom, grandmother, and tremendous member of our community. Susan helps look after our gardens (one of her passions), serves our lovely café guests, enters computer data, and even helped prepare and repaint our front porch! Really, what doesn't Susan do?
Thank you Susan, for your compassion and willingness to volunteer. You’re a valuable member of the CCC team.
