Cape Porpoise Spotlight

Featured below is a photo taken around the 1950's of our home base, well-known as The Wayfarer. Although owners and concepts have changed, through the years its beauty and heart remains the same. Stories, connections, and comforting meals are still made here.

The Wayfarer in the 1950s

The COMMUNITY aspect of Caring Community Cuisine continues to shine brightly from this spot. Consistent support through café purchases, donations, and special events allows us to provide meals services to many deserving cancer warrior families, at no cost to them.

Thank you to all who gathered for the first, hopefully annual, Cape Porpoise Social. The organizing team was humbled by the large attendance and positive feedback. What a tremendous event to promote community support and the beauty of a little coastal town.

Gratitude from the CCC Team to participating local businesses, including Bradbury Brothers Market, Cape Porpoise Library, Church on the Cape, Compliments Gallery, Kennebunkport Fire Department, Schlegel Realty, Three Seas, The Wright Gallery, and musical entertainment from The Dock Squares! Thank you, as always, for your continued support of our mission. More funds equals more families helped.

Our featured dish was a classic favorite - fresh lobster roll served with crispy French fries. Diners joined us on the porch and in the back garden for a delicious bite and a refreshing beverage.

June Events

A new project has formed to help us both honor and celebrate our amazing warriors. We are asking each family to submit some of their favorite recipes. We are planning to compile them into a CCC recipe book later this year for all to enjoy.

Question and Answer

Question: How do families find and sign up for your services?

Answer: Our very first cancer warrior family was referred to us by The Dempsey Center. Since then, the most common avenue has been word of mouth. Those interested are encouraged to come into the café, email info@ccckport.org, or call us (207) 204-0707.

We discuss the family’s cancer journey, establish the specific nutritional needs of the household, and explain the meal process each week. Families choose what they would like to eat from our varied weekly menu and then look forward to delivery on Tuesdays. We have not had to refuse any new inquires due to your tremendous support!
